Description:- Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships ( Abroad Scholarship ) invite INDIAN student to study Master Degree in U.S and also for those are already study in U.S in selected college and university. These fellowships are for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities. The fellowships are for one to two years. This is an Abroad Scholarship

Important Dates

  • Application start :15 May 2020
  • short-list candidates::End June
  • USIEF informs the applicants about the review outcome::Late july 2020
  • National interviews of short-listed candidates in Delhi :Mid-August 2020
  • USIEF notifies principal and alternate nominees that they are recommended. Nominees take tests (such as TOEFL & GRE):End-August 2020
  • USIEF forwards applications of recommended candidates to the U.S. for J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FFSB) approval and placement:: October 2020
  • USIEF notifies finalists::March April 2021
  • Pre departure Orientation in India :May 2021
  • Pre-academic training in the U.S. (if required) :July-August 2021
  • Degree program begins :August-September 2021


  • 1. Student must have completed an equivalent of U.S. bachelor’s degree from a recognized Indian university with at least 55% marks
  • 2. Student must not have another degree from a U.S. university or be enrolled in a U.S. degree program
  • 3. Student must Have experience in leadership and community service
  • 4. must have at least three years’ full-time (paid) professional work experience relevant to the proposed field of study by the application deadline


  • 1. J-1 visa support
  • 2. Accident and sickness coverage per U.S. Government guidelines
  • 3. Round-trip economy class air travel from fellow’s home city to the host institution in the U.S
  • 4. Accident and sickness coverage as per U.S. government guidelines

  • 4. Letter of invitation
  • 5. FNDR annexure form
  • 6. FNDR endorsement form
